This stunning species is from Central America, although there are many other kinds of Rosewoods found all around the world. It's a very dense, heavy wood, which gives it strength. Apparently it is the sweet smell that rises from the wood when working with it that gives it the name of "Rosewood". Now I can't wait to cut into my board to see if this is true!
