Lissa Chair concept
My first design series was based on a chair that would separate into pieces to either be a loveseat or a since chair and footstool. However, it evolved into a single piece, that was refined through models. The full scale model was particularly important in this case to perfect the comfort by having a variety of people sit in it. A welded steel base lent stability to the model.
Product Information
Based on observational research, I determined that the majority of people use chairs for seating positions that were not intended by the design. I worked to find the largest combination of seating positions possible, and the organic shape is partially based on the human form and ergonomics.
