Product Information

This was a special project, as the large willow oak tree at the Goodwin House Alexandria needed to be removed in order for a building addition. Many retirees had walked by, sat under, and admired this particular tree for years, and were upset at the loss. Goodwin House Alexandria reached out to me to design a bench, and to even select my preferred portion of the tree. Local Wood re-sawed and dried the slabs, which I milled and fashioned into three custom outdoor benches. They now sit scattered around the property’s walking paths for residents to enjoy. My daughter came with me to the opening ceremony for the new building and tried out one of the benches as seen in the third photo.
